About the Elly Jansen Award

The Elly Jansen Award is the annual celebration of innovation and creative approaches to therapeutic communities and relational practice globally.

The Award is a legacy of the late Elly Jansen OBE (pictured left), a prominent figure in the development of therapeutic communities globally, who cared passionately about making the work of therapeutic communities more widely known. 

​

There are two award categories, the first for written work about the ideas, practices or lived experience of therapeutic communities. The second for new research into the effectiveness of therapeutic communities.

The deadline for entries is Sunday, 3 May 2026.
